The last Thursday of April annually is usually set aside as the International Girls in ICT Day. A day to give opportunity for girls and young women to see and experience technology in a whole new light according to the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) i.e. creating events that encourage girls to pursue careers in information and communication technologies (ICTs), and other science related fields and create awareness on the best use of ICTs for various advantages and purposes.
The High Tech Center for Nigerian Women and Youths in line with this initiative organised a 2-week empowerment training for girls from ages with the Theme: eGirl, eWoman, eSociety: ICT Businesses & Brands for Beauty. The event covered both skill acquisition in Arts and Crafts and also in ICT.
